Galentine's Day ideas for tonight, last-minute Valentine's Day ideas, La La Land with a live orchestra, a puppy party and new beer release at one of my favorite kid-friendly breweries, and the Austin Marathon.

Galentine's Day

There are a ton of Galentine's Day events around this city tonight but the one at Kalimotxo looked extra cute. Their cocktails, appetizers, and small bites are delicious. $10 martinis and a cute $25 prix fixe at a vibey spot on the eastside sounds super fun, AND it's right across the street from good spots like Whisler and Daydreamer if you want to keep the party going. Honorable mention for Galentine's Day at Holiday on 7th, too.

Valentine's Day

Stop what you're doing and go plan your Valentine's Day! At this point, you're cutting it close. Head to Korman for jewelry, Take Heart for a cute card and literally anything gorgeous for your home, ByGeorge for clothing, Trader Joe's for chocolate and flowers, or Radius for a nice steak to cook together. I don't know, just scramble and do something good!

La La Land in Concert

Head to Bass Concert Hall this Saturday for a screening of La La Land with a full orchestra and jazz band performing the soundtrack, along with the movie. Tickets are almost gone for both seatings so grab yours quickly!

Dog Party & IPA Release at St. Elmo

If you've been following this newsletter lately, you know St. Elmo on Springdale is now in our usual rotation with the kids because the play area, drinks, and food trucks are all amazing. Tomorrow, they're hosting a dog party to celebrate their new Dog IPA release. There will be pup photo opportunities, a dog vendor market, a live DJ, drink specials, and pup cups. A portion of their beer proceeds will go to APA, too.

Austin Marathon

Beware of road closures Sunday monring! The best spots to cheer are South Congress (miles 1-3), South First (miles 4-6), and on the infamous Enfield Hill, which is actually where N Lamar and W 15th St intersect at mile 11. The halfers will finish in front of The Capitol after 13.1 miles, while the fullers will continue running around campus and the east side until heading back to downtown to finish at The Capitol, too.
